UNC Network Assessment Project Week 2 Summary

UNC Network Infrastructure Assessment Study

Week Two Executive Summary

March 30, 1998

This is the second weekly summary from the UNC ITS network assessment project management team.

Week Two Report:

During week two initial campus visits were completed at NC School of the Arts, NC A&T, NC Central, Elizabeth City State and UNC Pembroke. Work began at UNC Chapel Hill on Thursday. In addition, the following initial visits were completed during week one: Fayetteville State, North Carolina State, Western Carolina, Winston-Salem State, East Carolina, and UNC Asheville.

As a reminder, an initial campus visit consists of UNC Network Team members meeting with campus network reps to discuss the assessment methodology, worksheets, and campus resources available to help gather the necessary information.  In many cases team members assist campus network reps in the assessment process.

The following campuses have completed their network assessments and are in the process of turning in documentation to project managers at UNC-GA: Winston-Salem State, Elizabeth City State, and NC School of the Arts.

As a result of our early success, we are well on our way to completing the initial visit rotation in the allotted three weeks.

Project managers distributed the following documents during week two:

Week Three

This week (3/30 - 4/3) initial visits will begin or continue at UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, UNC Chapel Hill and Appalachian State. IT Directors on each campus were contacted last week to make arrangements for the visits.

Thank you for your continued support of this project. Please contact us if you need copies of any documents or have questions about the project.
