Web Administrative Services for Students

The enabling of online administrative student services via the web is positioned to be the Alliance's first collaborative project now that the governance structure for the Alliance is in place. From November 1999 until March 2000, a workgroup comprised of campus representatives identified fifty-three specific services for a comprehensive baseline solution to improve the delivery of administrative support to all UNC students. The baseline solution will be implemented in phases. The Phase 1 services will be installed and tested on all of the campuses participating as full members of the Alliance by December 2000.

Phase 2 planning is underway and the target date for installation and testing of the services in this phase is June 2001. Each campus will independently determine the actual timing for rolling out these services to their students. The goal is for all Alliance campuses to offer their undergraduate students online admission applications, financial aid assistance, registration for courses, the ability to view their grades and review their financial obligations via the web by the Fall of 2001.
