Principal at Ebenezer Elementary grades 3-5 in the Iredell-Statesville school system. My major responsibilities are; the curriculum leader for the school, meet the diverse needs of students and staff, and to create a positive climate for everyone who comes in contact with the school.

| Passions | Working with my child and doing projects around the house seem to take most of my free time. I do love to build things and it is totally different from what I do during the day. I consider a good day when I’m fishing and no one is around except my family. At this point in my life my school is my social cause. I do put a lot of time in at Ebenezer, but it is more than just a job, it is my social cause. |

The best book I’ve read lately is a Hero’s Journey by John Brown & Ceryell Moffett. It is about how School Leaders must learn how to take a journey from the states innocents to looking at their school realistically.
Another book that has meant a lot to me is First Things First
by Stephan Covey. It simply puts things in perceptive as to what is
important and why. As I turn 40, I find myself looking at what I’ve done
and what should be important in my life.
An article I read last month Professionalism Democracy and
Discursive Communities by Kenneth Strike deals with the state holders
of the public schools and how important it is in deciding who to include
when this school makes decisions and how those decisions are to be made. |
