Pubs
& Posts
This page features downloadable copies of all of PEP’s free
publications (e.g., recent newsletters, the current annual
report, etc.). That’s
the “Pubs” part.
The “Posts” part is a new addition to
our website. Here
you will find essays, digests of recent research, articles
written by PEP staff members or PEP graduates, advertisements
from other organizations, etc. – in other words, documents
that contain information we believe will be of interest to
school leaders across the state.
Publications
The following PEP documents are published in Adobe Acrobat

Education
Law in North Carolina is a subscription-based,
annually updated, twenty-seven chapter, "plain English"
source of information about the federal and state law that
affects North Carolina schools and administrators. ELNC is
available on a password-protected website. Users can find information, often within seconds,
via electronic search and linking tools. ELNC also contains
links to North Carolina case law, statutes, regulations and
other valuable legal resources. Almost every North Carolina
school system subscribes to this resource, which has been
published by PEP since 1987. Cost: $75.00 per year.
The
Provident Principal This classic treatise
is based on a series of lectures by John R. (Jack) McCall,
a clinical psychologist, educator, and PEP program associate.
Its title comes form the author's philosophy that every school
needs a provident principal--that is, a principal who plans
and thinks ahead to help every student or teacher in his or
her school succeed and excel.
Cost: $10.00
Seminar
Teaching: Five Case Studies This collection
of cases was written by Alice H. Hart, PEP instructor and
former North Carolina Principal of the Year. The cases report
on the successful use of Paideia concept and seminar teaching
in public schools. Cost:
$15.00
